Guided visit

The guided visit around the monastery includes: the entrance patio with a Gothic tower, the orange tree patio, the Moorish cloisters, the old church with a baroque chapel, the old chapterhouse with the image of the Virgin of Health, the refectory, the olive oil mill with a fresco by Father Borrás, the grain storehouse, the wine press, the stables and the old friars' kitchen, as well as the extraordinarily beautiful superior cloister, where the polychrome Gothic sculptures are particularly outstanding, the 'puerta de los leones' (the lions’ gate) and the monastery’s hall of arms, the impressive romantic gardens and the Gothic aqueduct in the surrounding area.

The guided tours always run on time..

The guided tour lasts for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. An audiovisual presentation of 20 minutes is available in English. If you wish, you can download the Monastery's visit guide (pdf) available in English.

Unguided visit

The unguided visit around the monastery includes all the rooms except the gothic superior cloister and the hall of arms.

The unguided tour lasts for 1 hour. An audiovisual presentation of 20 minutes is available in English. If you wish, you can download the Monastery's visit guide (pdf) available in English.

Ticket sales

You can buy the advance tickets in the ticket sales website of the Monastery. Please choose type of visit and date.

Entrance tickets can be also purchased at the monastery itself, but because the maximum capacity of the guided tour is limited, in case of peak periods we can not guarantee that tickets are available for the same day.

Saturdays

  • 10.00 a.m. - 11.30 a.m. Unguided tour.

  • 11.30 a.m. Guided tour.

Sundays

  • 11.30 a.m. Guided tour.

Visit prices

  • Individuals:6 / Youth card, Under-18s & Pensioners: 5 / Under-7s: Free.

  • Groups: 5.
  • Handicapped and persons with limited mobility: € 4 (it doesn't include the access to the superior cloister and the refectory).

Extraordinary visiting dates and times

"Porrat of Ròtova" - Easter - San Vicente long-weekend - Live music concerts in summer "Music in Sant Jeroni" - October 9 - December long-weekend - Christmas

The extraordinary visiting dates are indicated in the calendar of the ticket sales website of the Monastery and are announced promptly in the section "News" on the main menu of the website. Please ask us for more information.

Groups (15 people or more)

Advance bookings are necessary for visits by groups. “Groups” are considered as having a minimum of 15 people. Organised groups may visit the Monastery during the same visiting hours as individuals, as well as on any week day.

Advance bookings should be made downloading the group visit reservation form and sending it completed by email to: info@cotalba.es  We will contact you to confirm your reservation
